Finished Projects (or not!)

Well, the truth comes out – I have been prompted to post about my April “old” finished project – and the truth is there is not one.
There are those who have stuck to the program and finished one – AN and SW are two and a few more like me who have somehow missed the deadline. It could be because April is a short month…
JN suggested we make a new non rule and just try to finish two old projects next month. Good idea! Let’s try for it – since I have not received many messages from folk who finished an April project, I suspect there are a few of us.

…and I am making great progress on a new shawl while the one I started in mid April rests up for the final few rows.
You are going to want to knit one of these as well…

New Line – Americo has arrived!

We get very excited when new yarns arrive – not that we do not like our old ones; we just like our new ones because they are new. It is a good reason to start a new project, so with three yarns arriving form Americo this week, I have been busy knitting…

on a pre 2013 sweater which could have reached the April deadline? – No!
on the shawl I started last week and is going very well? – No!

I started two new projects with two new yarns!

Ask about these yarns when you are in and just maybe you can see the start of something …

We have other new yarns as well, and the sale bins are quite full! It is a good time to shop!

New Yarns

I have been visiting suppliers in order to review yarns for fall – seems strange when we are waiting to switch to lighter wool, or less layers, but the good part is I have also been shopping for the shop.

So, this week we have lots of boxes arriving along with regular shipments. There is a lot to look at – new colours in regular yarns, new yarns, and interesting yarns bought just for the sale bins.
It is an great time to shop!

…and an exciting new line has partially arrived…

Ha – we all thought the lovely spring weather on the weekend was here to stay, but Mother Nature decided to play a trick on us.
Still there is nothing like a cold rainy day spent inside knitting something warm and wooly.

There is always something new, but this week we received three different shipments of sock yarn – all your favourites – Opal, Zauberball, and Fleece Artist.
Great colours – great selection….
Today might be a good day to start a new pair of socks!

Finished Projects!

I had a couple of reminders that I had not posted about a finished project for February – had I completed an “old” project and the answer is YES!
I had intended it to be a sweater for myself – some of those have progressed but are not finished, but we have a new cowl in the shop – made out of two yarns, one is Debbie Bliss Angel, the other a silk. It is very pretty and cozy and warm – it is still cold out there, you know.
This cowl was started in the spring of 2012.
…and I can count at least five new projects completed – a couple hats for the shop and some stay-on booties and a hat for a certain small boy..
If you did not finish an old project for February, you can always do two in March and catch up nicely; remember there are no rules and since your rules are yours alone, you can always change them!

Snow Day!!

We are closed today due to all that cold white stuff which has fallen, and will continue to fall, and blow around….
It is a great day to make a lovely pot of tea, tuck it under your beautiful hand knitted cozy and knit.
…and have a kind thought for all those snow removers, and emergency and essential service workers out there

Storm tomorrow!!

It looks like we will all be at home tomorrow unless there is a drastic change in the weather forecast.

So, today everyone needs to stock up whatever we need – and maybe even prepare a little something extra foodwise, just in case.

The most important preparation for some of us though is the knitting!
We might even need a new project for the weekend, so check to make sure you have what you need….or maybe pop into see us just in case it is time to start something new.
It could be the time to finish an old (pre 2013) project – remember we are aiming for one a month this year, and start a new one. It could be a long weekend and some of us like to work on a few things at a time…
…. and we have had quite a few boxes arrive this week…

I finished my first pre 2013 project of the year!

Little Oak by Knitbot now has buttons and is hanging in the shop.
Have a look next time you are in.

I am on schedule – January is nearly over and I have finished one “old” project, one new project, and at least two new ones are started.
It is good knitting weather!
